Basement Media Room

Avolution were delighted to be involved in this fantastic basement renovation, and we took care of everything from the lighting design, to the specification, supply & installation of equipment for the Home Cinema, Multi room Audio & Lighting system. Everything about this project was completed to the highest standard and the result is an installation that is truly second to none.

At the heart of the 7.1 Home Cinema is a Kaleidescape media server, which gives instant access to 320 blu-ray films or 1800 DVD’s.

The picture is supplied by JVC’s Flagship X9 3D projector and is mounted in a projector drop mechanism to keep it out of harms way when not in use.

Artcoustic’s Spitfire monitors & subwoofer are positioned behind the 2.5 meter wide, acoustically transparent ‘Screen Research’ screen and handle everything the Yamaha Aventage multichannel amp can throw at them (which is a lot!)

As in all the best Home Cinemas, ease of use is taken care of by a touchscreen remote. The RTI T2x enables 1 touch control of everything.

LED strip lighting / down lighting is used throughout, the whole lighting system is powered by Lutron energy efficient electronic dimmers; which are controllable remotely from the RTI remote as well as the in-wall keypads.

Something different was the use of a ‘New Yorker’ Jukebox which features all the styling of a classic American jukebox – including bubble tubes – but with the convenience of a Sonos music system running Spotify, providing instant access to a vast music library.
